"I Didn't Choose To Be Homeless." Voices From Duluth's CHUM

There are 45 beds at Churches United in Ministry (CHUM) homeless shelter and they are almost always full. Five beds were open in the shelter on Thursday, but manager Kim Randolph said it wouldn’t last long.

UMD goes bananas for the Guerrilla Girls

It began with Frida Kahlo throwing bananas to the audience seated in Weber Music Hall. “Who wants bananas?” she asked as she entered the auditorium, wearing black pants, a black blazer and a giant black gorilla mask. Kahlo (not her real name; anonymity is necessary for this work) is one part of the feminist activist group Guerilla Girls.

13 students file lawsuit against UMD for fraud

Students are the ultimate voice for or against UMD. Recently some ex-faculty have spoken loud, sharing their complaints through lawsuits. Others are vocalizing their support for or disappointment with UMD through testimonies. As of Thursday, Oct. 15, 13 former education majors are suing the university.
